Do you plan on hosting a Super Bowl party this year?
If so, we at Upper Arlington Heating & Cooling have some suggestions to help you conserve on energy costs while at the same time hosting a great gathering and enjoying the game with friends and family:
Remember to Recycle!
Care about the environment? Those aluminum cans add up when you save them. We suggest setting up a recycle bin bestide to your coolers so guests can set their empty beverage cans and bottles inside them to reduce waste and score one for the planet.
Have a Backyard Tailgate
If it’s warm enough in your neighborhood, weather permitting, fire up the grill and host your pregame festivities in the backyard. You can build a fire if you need to. This will help you avoid using energy to operate your stove or oven and enjoy the late winter atmosphere as if you were actually at the Big Game.
Lower Your Home’s Temperature Down
Kick off your big Super Bowl party by taking the temperature down a few degrees inside your home. With food prep and extra bodies all revved up for kick-off, your home will be warmer than normal on its own.
Create A Play-by-Play Menu
Don’t make the mistake a lot of party hosts make and blitz your guests with food before the beginning of the game. Stagger food offerings with a play-by-play menu that brings out the goodies in waves, this way nothing will grow cold or get stale, and not as much food will get wasted.
Finger Foods First
To keep your guests from getting sluggish in the second half, set up a tray of meats, dips, chips and cheeses. The best part is that you’ll have to spend less time cooking and in the kitchen.
Furnace not performing up to par?
Don’t let your furnace call it quits in the middle of your big Super Bowl Bash. If you’re having home heating issues or HVAC problems, call Upper Arlington Heating & Cooling today at (614) 490-7507 before the big Game Day, or schedule an appointment now by clicking here!
